Football, 7-0, is hoping to make a deep run in the tournament, according to senior Devaughn White, a captain with seniors Curtis Beatrice, Andrew DeNucci, and Chris Quinn.
“Our team expectations as of now after finishing the regular season undefeated, are to make a deep playoff run and make this last run for us seniors a great one,” White said.
DeNucci added that “our goal at the beginning of the season was to make the playoffs and make a run which I believe is possible. We’ve made the playoffs and got the second seed so were in a great position to succeed,” he said. “Nobody expected us to go 7-0 so I’d say we have surprised many.”

DeNucci also believes a lot of the team’s success is due to senior quarterback Christian Cox. “Christian Cox is a major asset on our team,” DeNucci said. “He is leading the state in touchdowns.”
White attributes the success to the team chemistry. “The chemistry from the seniors to the underclassmen is incredible,” White said.
“Thanks to the high seed, our first playoff game will be played at home which is something we really wanted as a team early in the year. We believed as a team we would have a great season but I’m sure no one outside of the program saw this coming.”
DeNucci believes the success of the team is due to the “unsung heroes.”
“Both the offensive line and defensive line are playing fantastically. They’re the unsung heroes. That’s where it all starts and to have them be such a solid base when they are often playing against bigger lines is really huge for us.”
The team hopes to continue its winning streak and hopes to “get the win on Thanksgiving against Brookline,” DeNucci said.
