Boys’ lacrosse, 2-3, is looking to win the Bay State Conference and make it into the State Tournament this season, according to junior Ben Bassett, a captain along with senior Jack Boucher and junior Andrew DeNucci.

The team is beginning to make crucial adjustments that will help the teams offense, said Bassett.

“We’re still working on trying to play together as a team not just as individuals, which has been the biggest problem so far,” Bassett said.

Chemistry on the field is a necessity at the varsity level, according to Boucher.

“It will take a little bit of time but it will happen because we have a great group of guys,” he said.

Along with chemistry, the team is looking to work on their attacking plays.

The team is looking to rebuild and is working on fixing their offense, according to DeNucci.

“We know taking care of the ball in the clears and in settled offensive situations is a priority. We are working to improve in that area,” he said. “At this point in the season, a lot of kids are still looking to see what their role is going to be,” DeNucci said.

“We are a fairly inexperienced team and I think we’ll start to mesh more as the season progresses,” Bassett said.

DeNucci is confident that the team can improve and make it into tournament.

“The Tournament is still an attainable goal,” DeNucci said. “I believe we can make a deep push into it.”

The chemistry is great this year which should make it easier to improve as a team, Bassett said.

“I really like our team this year,” Bassett said. “We’re all really friendly and everyone gets along really well. We just need to transition that onto the field.”
