Girls’ softball beat Lowell 3-1 yesterday in its first State Tournament game of the season.
“We played really well as a team today,” said junior Liv Sloane, a captain. “Nobody played selfish and everybody really stepped up and did their part.”
Sloane pitched four shutout innings to lead the team. Sophomore Gabby Vachon finished the game off with superb pitching.
The Tigers play again at home on Tuesday vs. Methuen. Game time is 4 p.m.
