Junior Loukas Valaes prepares to dive in a meet against Reading Memorial yesterday

by Jay Feinstein
“They were just more talented,” said senior Ryan Chan, a captain with senior Ben Salwen, about the Tigers’ 96-82 loss to Reading Memorial yesterday.
“We’re going to have to try harder next time to lower our times.”
The team’s morale was “only okay,” coming in to the meet, he said, and it did not increase by the end.
“They won almost every event. Hopefully we can win our next meet.”
Coach Ryan Rich said that the team should focus on what went well. A highlight was diving, where Chan placed first with  204.45 points.
Also, junior Felix Xu and sophomores Liran Bromberg, Sahil Desai and Brian Mariano placed second in their respective events.
“We need to take advantage of our strengths as a team,” Rich commented. “That can be accomplished both in my lineup writing and in the pool.”
“All that said, we did a fantastic job today, and I’m very pleased with how we swam.”
