Girls’ volleyball beat Needham 3-0 at home last Thursday in their annual senior recognition game. “All of the seniors played incredibly, and it was really cool to play together,” said senior Chelsea Simmons, a captain with seniors Erin Carey, Shaelyn Fitzgerald, Lauren Gobler, Sarah Hiranandani, Cecily Powderly, Hannah Kett, and Ashley Wang.
According to Simmons, the team’s offense carried the team. “Our front row and back row attacking were great, and we used all of our hitters, who can strategically place the ball,” she said.
Simmons also credited much of the team’s success to Kett. “She has shown great improvement as a strong hitter,” she said.
After qualifying for the playoffs, the team is focused on the upcoming tournament. “Going into the playoffs we are engraving the basics and making sure we follow our plan,” said Simmons.
The date for the first playoff match is to be determined.
