Girls’ volleyball, 6-0, defeated Braintree, 0-5, in three sets last Friday afternoon in Reggie Gym after a performance that entailed “tremendous grit” and overall “excellent volleyball,” according to head coach Richard Barton, after the Tigers won by a commanding score of 75 to 28 points.
Barton said that “everyone served well and killed balls, leading to really good volleyball by a strong team,” by the end of the game.
Senior Julia Lanfear, a captain with seniors Olivia Kelly, Mishka Legatova, and Jessie Yang, said that the Tigers “came into this game saying that we are going to be very serious and play like it’s the state finals.”
Lanfear then added that “we are going to take every game seriously no matter the opponent, coming into the game with the same intensity every time.”
Moving forward, Lanfear feels very optimistic about the future by saying that this win “will definitely help moving forward.”
The Tigers will play Needham next Thursday at home.
