Saturday, the Ligerbots, this school and South’s combined robotics team, competed in the Beantown Blitz, an informal competition held at Northeastern University, according to junior Eli Sadovnik, a captain.
The NUTRONS, a robotics team made up of students from various high schools in the area, hosted the event for all For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) teams from around the Boston area, Sadovnik said.
“It was an off-season competition that was held for fun,” he said.
Buzz Robotics from Enfield, Connecticut; Bobcats Robotics from South Windsor, Connecticut; and Team Hyper from Quincy won the Beantown Blitz.
The Ligerbots has competed in multiple competitions throughout the year. “We did well at creating new parts, such as the chassis, which is the internal framework of a robot, which we hadn’t constructed before,” Sadovnik said.
For the 2012-2013 season, “we are looking forward to building another robot,” he said.
