Girls’ swim and dive, 11-0, placed first in the South Sectionals last Sunday at Wellesley College with 313 points, defeating three-time defending state champion Bishop Feehan, among other teams.
Freshman Serena Ly broke the school record for the 100 meter breaststroke while sophomore Sarah McEachern won the 500 freestyle and senior Amanda Graf won the backstroke.
Graf, senior Annmarie Conboy-DePasquale, McEachern, and sophomore Erin Supko participated together in the 200 meter relay and won.
Senior Marissa Best, a captain with senior Sasha McDonald, is proud of the team’s improvement.
“I am most proud of how hard everyone is working to drop time and how everyone is cheering for each other. The support the team gives each other is amazing.”
This Sunday, the Tigers will travel to Harvard to compete at States. According to Best, it is important for the Tigers to stay focused.
“I think everyone just needs to taper and have a good mental game for Sunday’s meet. We are going to stay focused and motivated throughout the week leading up to States,” she said.
