Whitsons Culinary Group will now serve omelets for $2 every Friday morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
The omelet station was piloted the Friday before April vacation near the kitchens but was instead served in the cafeteria seating area last Friday due to increasing demand. The new breakfast option has gained 50% more student customers since the first Friday.
According to food service director Solange Morrisette, the omelet station will last the rest of the school year, but she hopes it will be permanently integrated into the school’s food system.
The omelets, served with roasted potatoes, features many toppings, including sausage, bacon, ham, cheese, as well as a variety of vegetables.
“Instead of eating at home,” Morrisette said, “students should come to the cafeteria to enjoy a healthy, convenient, and delicious breakfast.”
According to Morrisette, the omelet station also possesses a “fun factor” of being able to watch the chefs flipping omelets over a fire and the toppings in a bowl being transformed into a hearty meal.
