Football defeated Brookline High School 42-8 in the 125th annual Thanksgiving Day Game at Northeastern University at Parsons Field.

“It was great to see all of the team starting to work together because we’d been missing that for the past few weeks,” said senior Nolan Boyer, a captain with seniors Michael Coscione and Andrew Landry. “Our line played great, our seniors played great, and our quarterback ran the offense very well.”

A punt block early in the game set North close to the end zone, giving them an easy scoring opportunity. As well, several interceptions in the first half helped the team score points early.

“Going into the game, we were on a pretty bad losing streak,” said Coscione. “It was our last game of the season, we just wanted to leave it all out there.”

North maintained their momentum in the second half, scoring several more touchdowns. Towards the end of the game, the officials let the clock run out.

Freshman Matt Morris, the running back, scored three touchdowns in the game. Freshman Dante Atwood had two interceptions, bringing one back for a touchdown.

According to Boyer, the game is meant as a sendoff to the seniors. “Everyone who buys into the team as a family is out there, all the kids who have been sacrificing countless hours for the team,” he said. “It’s really just about playing for the people who aren’t going to play anymore.”
