Dance placed third at States last Saturday at Hudson High School, in an event where they were “very focused and super determined” to do their best, according to senior Eliana Zuckernik, a captain with seniors Lian Bruce, Isabella Nielsen, Hailey Roover, and Izzi Waitz.
Before the competition, North adopted a positive mindset by “reminding each other of corrections and giving helpful comments,” according to Zuckernik.
“We hyped each other up and had several motivational talks before performing,” said Zuckernik. Framingham and Wakefield were the only two teams to place ahead of North.
During the regular season, North competed in only two competitions. They placed first at the Think Pink Competition and first second at the Emmanuel Competition.
Despite having the largest team in history, North was able to “become really close and worked cohesively,” according to Zuckernik.
She added, “Even though we had a lot of new members and underclassmen, everyone stepped up and became integral parts of the team.”
Zuckernik credited much of the team’s success to head coach Caroline Nunberg. “She always gives helpful comments and goes above and beyond with organization and planning,” she said.
North concluded their season by performing at halftime of the annual Thanksgiving Day Game.
