Girls’ hockey, 6-13-2, watched its season come to an end Wednesday night following a 6-1 loss to Chelmsford at the Chelmsford Forum in the preliminary round of the State Tournament.
The Tigers entered the tournament as the last seeded team, getting in due to a second place finish in the conference. As the 22nd seed, the Tigers were up against the 11th seed, Chelmsford, 13-5-3 while the top 10 seeds had bys. Chelmsford will move on to play the sixth seed, Acton-Boxboro, in the first round.
For the Tigers, the lone goal came from freshman Angelina Joyce. According to senior Caitlin O’Hanley, a captain with senior Nicole Quinn, the Tigers “were hoping for a upset being the last seeded team, but what we all wanted was to play the sport that we know and give it our all.”
