Fall Dance is preparing to succeed in the first competition, said coach Sarah Elentukh.
“Based off what I’ve seen so far at practices, these girls have a very good chance at placing if not winning the top competitions we participate in,” Elentukh said.
Although the team has many new dancers, the chemistry is still strong and continues to develop said junior Sonia Ferre, a captain along with senior Maria Bilotta and junior Lexi Gershkowitz.
“We believe that our team chemistry is going very well considering the amount of new team members,” Ferre said.
Elentukh also believes that the chemistry is developing and she believes the team has “established a system of mentorship between the upperclassmen and underclassmen, where everyone is getting along.”
According to Elentukh, the team is also working hard on its fundamentals and tricks in order to be the best team possible.
“Our goal for this season is to really fine tune our fundamental hip hop skills. In addition, we would like the entire team to be able to perform certain tricks that only a select few could do before,” Elentukh said.
“With intense practices and focus, we could have a really great team,” Ferre said. “Regardless of the number of new teammates, we have a lot of skill and a great deal of potential.”
Elentukh believes that the team is motivated to be the best. “These are some of the hardest-working and motivated dancers I have ever had the pleasure of working with,” Elentukh said. “They are not afraid to take safe risks and really push themselves to new heights in their skills.”
“We have been having a blast and can’t wait for the competitions to begin. We’re ready defend our state title!” Ferre said.
