Girls’ hockey, 10-6-1, lost 3-2 in a close game at Norwood Wednesday, according to senior Marisa Gilardetti, a captain with senior Ashley Smith.
Norwood scored two goals in the last 15 seconds of the game to come from behind for the win.
“We definitely played well, and Norwood was one of the hardest teams we’ve played, but we fought until the end. This was our first time in a tournament-like situation, so we just need to work on pulling through under high amounts of pressure,” said Gilardetti.
The Tigers played well, but couldn’t finish off Norwood and lost the lead as the clock ticked down in the third period, according to Gilardetti. “Junior Hannah Gallogly played really well, and she wanted it until the last second,” she said.
After starting off the season 0-4, the Tigers have turned their season around and have won 10 of their last 13 games. Playoffs start Monday, according to Gilardetti.
“We prepared throughout break with practice every day,” said Gilardetti.
With more tough play ahead, the Tigers look to continue their season successfully. The final game of the Tigers’ regular season is Monday at home against rival Needham.
