Golf, 2-0, was victorious in a close match Tuesday at Braintree, winning 55-53.
“It was a close match, where every hole counted, and I’m glad we had enough to win,” said coach Bob MacDougall.
The team relied on all of its players during the match, according to MacDougall.
Sophomore Ethan Plotkin was the Tigers’ lowest scorer in the match, with a three over par score of 39, according to MacDougall.
This year the team has many returning players, according to MacDougall. “We are looking for their leadership for the few newcomers we have,” he said.
MacDougall noted the team’s experience as one of its strengths.
One area the team is looking to improve in is consistency, according to MacDougall. “We also want to be solid around the green,” he said.
Although MacDougall said that all the team’s matches are important to the season, its matches against Brookline, Needham and Wellesley carry more weight.
“They are great programs, and we can gauge our progress by how we perform against them,” he said.
