Boys’ soccer, 6-5-5, tied Braintree, 6-5-5, by a score of 1-1 that was close to the very end, showing off the Tigers’ “strong mentality” said senior Alex Crystal, a captain with senior Adrian Scott.
With the Tigers’ only goal coming early in the match by Crystal, he explained that “the goal early really lifted us up, and gave us confidence, helping us do a lot of good the things the rest of the match.”
Head coach Roy Dowe commented, “It’s all about mentality, and we had the right mentality to compete tonight.” Adding that the Tigers’ really “worked our tails off.”
The Under the Lights game happens just once every year, and Crystal discussed the magnitude of the game for them. He said, “Playing under the lights on the turf, gave us the boost to play like a tournament team that we know we are.”
Crystal added that “It made us motivated and  mentally ready to get a result knowing people came out to watch us, and I think it showed in the way we played.”
Now the Tigers’ are three points away from clinching a spot in the state tournament. Crystal said, “Moving forward, keeping our mentality and motivation high will allow us to beat any team.”
