To help raise money for Senior Prom, the senior class will hold a Mr. 013 pageant Thursday, Jan. 24 at 5 in the auditorium, according to senior class president Mike Safran.
The all-male beauty pageant, devised by the senior class officers, consists of an athletic-wear round, a talent round, a formal-wear round and a question and answer round, according to Safran.
“We are still working on the details of how each round will work, but it will basically be that each competitor presents his attire or talent to the audience, and he will be judged by our three judges,” he said.
The class officers are also planning a group event with all the competitors, according to Safran.
Nominations for the contest closed last week. Any student could have nominated a male senior to compete in the contest by placing a name in the nomination box located in the Barry House office, according to Safran.
By the end of the week, the class officers will choose the 10 seniors with the most nominations. The eventual winner of the contest will receive two free Senior Prom tickets.
The emcee for the event will be announced soon, according to Safran.
“All students are encouraged to attend,” Safran said. “The event is not solely for seniors. Our hopes are that the event will continue for years to come.”
Tickets for the Mr. 013 pageant are $5 and are on sale during lunch.
