Girls’ basketball, 12-1, continued its successful season Friday with a 51-37 win over Dedham, according to coach Linda Martindale.

The game was the Tigers’ third of the week, and the team was very tired. Martindale attributed some of the team’s sloppy play to how tired they were.

Senior Madison Beatrice and junior Infiniti Thomas-Waheed led the team with great shooting, defense, and rebounding.

“The highlight of the game was definitely Infiniti getting 19 rebounds. Her goal was 18, so that was great,” said Martindale.
During the first half, the Tigers played with a fast pace, and executed well on their shots. Beatrice, one of the team’s captains, had a great game. She shot well, and her defense kept the team ahead for most of the game. Her buzzer-beating three pointer to end the first half uplifted the team, and the Tigers headed into halftime with high spirits.
“We tried to control the tempo. We had to make adjustments to their defense. It was a very physical game. It was our third game this week, and we were just tired,” said Martindale.
The Tigers eventually beat an overmatched Dedham squad by 14 points. However, Martindale said that she and the players were disappointed by the team’s sloppy day. Martindale said she hopes that some rest will fix the Tigers’ issues.
The Tigers play today at home against Wellesley, and then have five games in February to finish off the regular season.
