Junior Parent Night will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31 from 7 to 9:45 p.m., to provide parents with important post-graduate information, according to guidance department head Beth Swederskas. Sophomore Parent Night was held Tuesday, Jan. 17 and provided parents with information about starting the post-graduate procession, she said.
During Junior Parent Night, parents will meet with their child’s guidance counselor, as well as separate into groups on specific topics, she said.
Topics include post-graduate options, college admissions, college visits and interviews, parent roles and beating stress senior year, she said.
“Sophomore Parent Night included an introduction to Naviance and a review of Progress to Graduation and ‘Things to Do’ in their sophomore year,” Swederskas said.
Parents split into groups with their child’s guidance counselor and discussed concerns and advice for sophomore parents, she said.
“Parents received information about PLAN test results, upcoming sophomore seminars, registration day and sophomore teacher comments,” Swederskas said.
All of the information given on Sophomore and Junior Parent Nights are important to the school year and post-graduate planning, she concluded.
