Sophomore Emily Kern was the Golden Collar Girl at the Golden Collar Awards, an award show for dogs, last night in Los Angeles.
Her role was to answer questions on the red carpet, present the awards to the winners and to pose with the award, which was a “golden collar coated in Swarovski crystals,” according to Kern.
Dogs were nominated for their performances in any of five categories: best in a theatrical film, a foreign film, a television series, a reality television series and a direct to DVD film.
Kern’s uncle and the CEO of the newspaper Dog News Daily came up with the idea for the awards show, according to Kern. She said that he contacted her and asked her to be the Golden Collar Girl.
Kern said that the show was “truly an experience of a lifetime.”
