This morning was the second morning the Greengineers sold bike-powered smoothies to raise awareness about nutrition and to raise money for a charity that they selected.
The strawberry banana smoothies, which are are sold Wednesday mornings 7:15 to 8:15 in the cafeteria, are contained in compostable cups and cost two dollars and fifty cents.
English teacher and chief innovation officer Stephen Chinosi said that the project is beneficial to all students involved because it combines engineering, carpentry, business and nutrition.
Paul Freedman ’95 founded the Rock the Bike company, which designed the motor that converts the kinetic energy of the bike to power the blender. This technology will be used to bike-power graduation this June.
