Wednesday, the Tigers lost to Brookline, last year’s state champions, even though sophomore Evie Heffernan came in first with a time of 20:26.
A Brookline sophomore followed seven seconds after Heffernan.
Senior Rebecca Trayner, a captain with seniors Allie Phillips, Rosie Sokolov and Melissa Weikart, placed second on the team and third overall at 20:47.
Next for the Tigers was junior Julia Schintarelli who came in third on the team and 10th overall with 21:23.
At 21:53, freshman Isabella Reilly came in 14th overall and fourth on the team. Then, junior Kaylee Spitaels came in 22:10. She was 16th overall and fifth for the Tigers.
“The seniors made personal records on their last home meet ever,” Phillips said.
According to Phillips, others who made personal records included seniors Laura Cooke and Elizabeth Ho, Trayner, Schintarelli and freshmen Julia Feinstein and Reilly.
She said she is proud of how “although we lost, everyone competed at the best of their abilities.”
