Members of boys’ cross country, despite suffering a 20-41 loss to Brookline at home today, made personal records.
One runner who made a personal record, sophomore Gabe Montague, “broke 17 for the first time, running the course with a time of 16:55, so we’re all proud of him,” said senior Justin Keefe, a captain with senior David Buzby.
Montague placed sixth overall and second on the team after Keefe who finished with a time of 16:14.
Keefe placed second overall behind Brookline senior Chernet Sisay, who had a time of 16:14 as well but was nevertheless slightly before Keefe.
In 10th overall but third on the team was junior David Demarest with a time of 17:25.
Thereafter, junior Jonny Long came in a close 11th and fourth on the team with a time of 17:28.
Four members from Brookline followed behind him and Buzby came in fifth on the team and 16th overall at 17:42.
“At this meet, we were missing one of our top five guys, Mike Schlichting, due to an injury, which wasn’t to our advantage,” Keefe said.
