Students showed off their talents while raising money for the North’s academic support program at the annual student talent show in the Little Theatre, Thursday, May 17. 
The talent show featured a range of acts from 16 different students including singing, instrumental skills, and dancing. The talent show committee, with the help of Theatre Ink, TV Production, and the Fine and Performing Arts Department organized the performance.  
“I think it went great,” said academic support program manager Brian Rooney, the talent show program manager. “It was hard work getting everything ready, but in the end, it came together nicely.”  
According to Rooney, the money raised will “provide supplies and materials for our classrooms and rewards and incentives for our students in the academic support program.”
Sophomores Sara Manning, Emily Bennett, and Margaret Needham played a set of polkas, which included a bodhran and tin whistles.  The three explained that they wanted to spread Irish culture as well as raise money for the academic support program.
“Academic support is such a great program,” Manning said. “One of the main reasons I did this was I wanted to show that.”
Senior Thacher Andreae showed off his skills on a piano while singing “I Can’t Fight This Feeling” by REO Speedwagon. Andreae, who has taken part in the talent show all four years, is thankful for the academic support program for helping him through his time at North.
“Academic support has helped me a lot throughout the years,” Andreae said.  “And overall I think the performance went really well for everyone.”
