The Tigers swept cross-town rival South in the second round of the state girls’ volleyball tournament this Tuesday night at North.
According to senior Miška Legátová, a captain with seniors Julia Lanfear, Olivia Kelly, and Jessie Yang, sophomore “Liisa Halloran stepped up with her hitting and became a dominant force in the game.”
The Tigers won the first set 25-15, and followed with 25-10 and 25-20 wins to close out the match.
Despite controlling most of the match, Legátová said, “I think the team could improve on taking more control of the game, we need to bring more energy and aggression so we can be a strong force. Once we all come together and focus we are amazing.”
Legátová attributed the win to the team’s great serving, as the Tigers had served 13 aces that night.
The Tigers’ next game is tomorrow night at 6:30, at home, against Cambridge R&L.
