Boys’ cross country, 9-1, defeated Brookline 23-32 Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Cold Spring Park.
Senior Andrew Mah, a captain with seniors AJ Arbuckle and Ilai Gavish, set a course record with a time of 15:15.
Mah was pleased with how the team performed.
“Our entire top seven beat or ran close to their best times at the course,” said Mah. He added that a highlight of the meet was junior Jojo Silagi. “Silagi who finished fifth for us, fell down at the start of the race, but still got back up and only finished five seconds off his best time.”
“Wellesley is probably still the favorite to win the league meet next Saturday,” said Mah. “But I think we just need to stay focused and keep working hard in practice and we have a very good shot at beating them.”
The team’s next meet is the league meet, next Saturday, Oct. 28.
