Initially filled with many cancellations and postponements due to poor weather, the spring sports season is finally well underway.
Here are some highlights from a few games so far.
Boys’ Volleyball was home against Needham April 14. The first point of the game opened with a long rally and a kill from senior Jake Fallon that was indicative of the rest of the game.
Another highlight of the first game was a massive block by senior Nate Hollenberg that landed in bounds on Needham’s side, giving the Tigers a 9-4 lead. After lots of long points, the Tigers emerged victorious, and won the match in 3 straight sets.
Boys’ Tennis also played Needham April 14. The Tigers had lots of well-fought points, most of which were decided after long rallies.
As freshman manager Jack Armstrong explained, “The consistent serving has really helped us in this tough match.” After many competitive matches, only one player won for the Tigers; freshman David Arango, winning 6-1, then 6-0. The Tigers ultimately fell 4-1 to Needham.
Boys’ Lacrosse also played April 14, against Milton, and seemed to be playing very well. With about six minutes remaining in the first quarter, the Tigers were strong on defense, not letting Milton near their goal. However, a defensive mistake lead to to a Milton goal making the score 11-1. The Tigers went on to win 17-7.
