Tiger Question: Are you concerned about the frequency of shelter-in-places? Do you feel safe at North?
“Yeah, I am concerned.”
– Junior Greg Kahrasch
“I think it’s important that we have shelter-in-places. The school should take it seriously and take all precautions. I’m not concerned about my safety, since the school has a pretty well-established system.”
– Junior Eleanor Graham
“I haven’t really thought about it. But the more there are, the more concerned I get.”
– Sophomore Katelyn Godfroy
“I think it is a bit concerning that there have been two shelter-in-places at North within the span of just a bit more than a month. Not only that, but it was a robocall sent to several schools, which could suggest that more thought was put in, which is kind of disturbing. Still, I feel pretty safe.”
– Freshman Eve Martin
“Absolutely.”
– Senior Marisa Ng
“I do feel safe at North. I got a little concerned about the second one, though, because it felt a lot more real.”
– Senior Luiza Barrett
“I do feel safe at North.”
– Senior Zoe Hecht
“It is kind of odd, the fact that we’ve had several shelter-in-places, but I haven’t given it much thought, honestly. I didn’t feel scared during the shelter-in-places because I didn’t feel as if anything would actually happen. I do feel safe at North because Newton is a very safe place.”
– Freshman Hayoung Song
“No, not really. And I do feel safe.”
– Junior Tobin Gevelber
“I feel pretty safe, but during the shelter-in-place, not so much. But aside from that, I feel pretty safe.”
– Sophomore Anna Fischer
“Yeah, I guess.”
– Junior Daisy Cartagena
“I would say I’m a little concerned. But overall I feel pretty safe.”
– Senior Alex Montague
