Girls’ cross country has qualified for the All-States meet for the second straight year after securing the fourth and final spot at the Division 1 States meet last Saturday. The All-States meet will be Saturday at Stanley Park in Westfield and will be the final meet of the year for the Tigers.
The Tigers finished fourth for the meet. Sophomore Einat Gavish finished in ninth place, senior Victoria Spitaels finished 10th place, sophomore Rose Teszler finished 23rd. The seven runners who ran at Division 1 States will also be running at All-States.
Gavish, Spitaels, Teszler, senior Leah Metzger freshman Olivia Micalizzi, senior Cat Teasdale, and senior Sarah Williams respectively will be the top seven runners sent to the meet.
According to Victoria Spitaels, a captain with seniors Natalie Cohen, Westley Joseph, Ruby Mayer, and Dee Wu, the team’s goal is to finish in the top ten in the state for the meet. Specifically, the Tigers want to beat Wellesley.
“They beat us earlier this season in our meet against them, but we have consistently been improving as a team where as they have not been. They’ve remained the same throughout the season,” said Spitaels.
This meet will be the final meet for Spitaels, Metzger, Teasdale and Williams at North. The other seniors had their last meet earlier in the season.
