This school year, the French exchange trip has been canceled. However, the French students from this school’s sister school will still be visiting from Saturday, Oct. 12 to Thursday, Oct. 31 as a continuation of last year’s exchange, according to French teacher and exchange coordinator Margot Murphy.
Last year, the French student’s trip in April was canceled due to the Boston Marathon bombings. The time spent preparing for the incoming French students in the fall made it impossible for the coordinators to prepare for another exchange in the second semester, according to Murphy.
“The positive news is that the relationship with our sister school in Paris will continue as South will exchange with them this year,” said Murphy.
Families at this school can still host French students during the four weeks of the program.
