As part of an initiative to improve teens’ safety on the road, there will be a “Just Think: Teens Making Smart Choices” presentation at Monday’s PTSO meeting in the film lecture hall from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The meeting is open to students and parents.
On Main Street, there will be activities for students, such as walking while wearing goggles that simulate drunkenness.
Sullivan Tire will give free tire checks on Tiger Drive, according to parent Sally Brickell, a PTSO president.
In addition, there will be several guest speakers, including Newton policemen Jeff Mace and John Panica and parents Barbara Spivak and Howard London, who will speak about “A Promise to Adam,” according to Brickell.
“Teen drivers and soon to be drivers need to take responsibility for their own safety and for the safety of passengers, pedestrians and property,” Brickell said. “Both parents and students will learn something at this educational and engaging evening.”
She added that the PTSO will be sponsoring another “Just Think” exposition for parents Tuesday, Jan. 29.
