Connections Applied Behavior Analysis program (ABA) hosted a barbecue Friday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Hibernian Wall in Watertown.

The event was held  “to raise money and awareness for the ABA program,” according to special education teacher Erin Haggerty, the event coordinator.

The event had a $10 entrance fee and featured a live band, raffle and silent auction.

Haggerty said that ABA educates students with autism spectrum disorders or intellectual disabilities at this school, giving them “unique and inclusive and special education.”

“The purpose of this fundraiser was to generate much-needed funds for education materials and activities, supplies related to behavior incentives, community-building field trips, transportation, athletic equipment and more.”

“We were really impressed by the turn out. Even though it was Memorial Day weekend, 75 people came, and we raised $1800,” said Haggerty.
