Girls’ lacrosse, 7-3-1, fell to Natick 17-13 at home yesterday in its third straight loss, according to senior Allison Berkowitz, a captain with seniors Kayla Farina and Hannah McGoldrick.
“We’ve definitely been struggling a bit recently, and we’ve lost our past three games, so we’re trying to start winning again,” said Berkowitz.
Senior Hannah McGoldrick said the game was a frustrating loss. “It was a bad loss. If we handled the ball on offense and moved up the field better we could have won,” she said.
Berkowitz said that the team is working on keeping its composure and its concentration during games. “Lacrosse is as much a mental game as it is a physical one, and we’re working on staying focused,” she said.
One difference in this game compared to previous games was that the team stayed positive throughout the game, according to Berkowitz.
McGoldrick said the squad gets along well as a team, something that will lead to success in the future. “We get along really well, and I think that will lead to success in the rest of the season as well as having a strong team in future seasons, ” she said.
The Tigers play Brookline at home Wednesday, a game that Berkowitz said she hopes they can win in order to get back on track. They play at Dedham Monday.
“Brookline and Dedham are usually some of the weaker teams in the league, so hopefully we can win those games,” she said.
McGoldrick said she hopes Brookline will be “a solid win.”
