Tuesday night, the Class of 2015 held a movie night at the West Newton Cinema to raise money for an end of year dance, according to class president Tommy Mobley.
Mobley said that nearly 30 kids signed up to attend, and additional tickets were sold at the door. He added, “It was tough to get kids because of their other obligations on a Tuesday evening.”
Maddie Maloney, a vice president, said that the movie theater charged $8 a person, so the class officers decided to raise the price to $12 in order to make a profit. The entry fee included popcorn and a drink.
“The event is a fun, school sanctioned event that allows them to watch a great movie while spending time with their friends after school hours,” she said. “It also supports the funding for the dance, which many students are looking forward to.”
