Hundreds of ceramic, photo, and art pieces will cover the first floor art wing and Main Street, as art students display their past year’s work for Art Morning.
“Art Morning is our end of the year exhibition, in which all students who have taken art, ceramics, or photography get to exhibit their work for other students, parents, and teachers,” said art teacher Shannon Slattery. This exhibit will occur Friday, May 16, 7-9 a.m.
Sophomore Hope Hoffman-Larson will be contributing two pieces to the exhibit. She painted Barbie and wrote “Perfect?” above. She said she tried to “bring out the idea that Barbie is not realistically perfect.”
Hoffman-Larson added that she enjoys Art Morning because of the diversity in work. “There are so many endless forms of art, and Art Morning displays everyone’s art work which provides an inspiring experience.”
Slattery said that she is most excited to her Art Minor’s “recycled” dresses on display. The dresses are full-size, and are made from Post-it Notes, cereal boxes newspaper, and phone books, according to Slattery.
“They worked extremely hard, and the outcome is amazing.”
Ceramics teacher Cindy Massoff said, “Art Morning is the perfect occasion for family members and relatives to see all the hard work their children have put into this year.”
