Spontaneous Generation,to run in the Little Theatre Wednesday, April 8 through Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m, is an unscripted improvisation show which relies on audience participation and creative actors to make each show unique.
Junior Aaron Schwartz, a member of the troupe, said that the show is quite different from many others at Theatre Ink, as it “requires the cast to work together on a whole other level.”
Schwartz also added that in the performance, a bond develops between the cast and the audience, “as it’s the first time for either group to ever have seen what’s being put on stage.”

Junior Jen Gately, a director along with senior Elena Rodriguez, had a similar opinion on the cast’s close bond with the audience, and added that the show’s variety “ensures that audiences will never grow bored.”
Rodriguez explained that as well as the content of the show, the people involved are also diverse. “Our cast is full of a variety of different people,” she said. “Some of them are hard-core theatre kids, and some haven’t even been on the stage before, so everyone has something different to bring.”
While everyone in the cast has something different to bring, everyone in the audience can find something to enjoy, according to Gately. “The show is great for both students and adults, as watching a night of improv comedy is the perfect remedy for stressful work weeks,” she explained. “We endlessly crack ourselves up during rehearsals, and we hope to do the same to our audience.”

According to Gately, Spontaneous Generation’s performance will be “nothing but a night of fun.”
Tickets cost $7 and are sold on Theatre Ink’s website and during all lunches.
