Boys’ hockey, 14-6-3, saw its season come to an end following a 1-0 loss to fifth-seeded Duxbury in the second round of the State Tournament, in which they were the fourth seed.
Had the Tigers prevailed, they would have advanced to the semi-finals to face the top-seeded Xaverian High School.
This is the furthest the Tigers went in over 18 years. In past years, the team failed to make the State Tournament, and this year the Tigers were able to make it to the second round of the tournament.
Senior Chris Quinn, a captain with seniors Thomas Gresser and Matthew Mulvaney, thought the team played well, but could not finish.
“I think the team played hard, but could not get the puck in its net. It was a winnable game, but the team that played better won,” said Quinn.
Junior Thomas Joyce, goalie, played another amazing game in net, according to Quinn. In the two games, Joyce allowed only one goal.
