Mock Trial defeats Newton Country Day in first trial

by Amanda Hills
Mock Trial won its first trial so far against Newton Country Day Tuesday, according to senior Meredith Abrams, who has participated in Mock Trial for three years.
She said that this school’s team won by a “decent margin.”
Senior Michael Dinsmore, the club president, said, “We are very happy with everyone’s performance.”
He credited the new members as being “unusually active on the team this year.”
Abrams added that there are few returning members this season, which has posed a challenge for the club. “Pretty much our entire team has had to learn everything from scratch,” she said. “Everyone has done a fabulous job.”
Dinsmore also credited the new members as being “unusually active on the team this year.”
Abrams said that the team is still looking to improve. “We would like to get stronger with the improvised parts of a trial.”
The club will face Belmont Hill in a meet Thursday. This school’s team will assume the role of the plaintiff.
“It’s going to be a very tough meet. Belmont Hill is a more challenging opponent than Newton Country Day,” Abrams said.
