In keeping with the worldwide increase in technology usage, more and more teachers at this school are creating websites for their students. These websites keep students organized and on track with assignments.
Teacher websites are beneficial because they help students and teachers communicate outside of class. In addition, teachers often use websites as a forum to post supplementary material for students to use and to learn from. These materials help teachers communicate ideas and lessons in a medium different from the traditional classroom.
On their websites, many teachers have calendars with homework assignments, giving students a safety net when they forget what their homework is. Websites also gives students an opportunity to get ahead on assignments and to be more organized.3
Sophomore Hannah Searles said she thinks that it is important that more teachers develop websites. “I use my teachers’ websites every day for homework,” she said.
Sophomore Brewster Taylor said more teachers at this school should have websites because they really help students.
Websites are a useful tool in education, allowing students to bridge what is taught in the classroom, to studying at home.
