‘Froshcab’ promotes inclusivity, being yourself

Froshcab+promotes+inclusivity%2C+being+yourself

Froshcab, an all freshman cabaret, will provide an all inclusive opportunity for students with any level of theater expertise to dabble in various forms of performing arts such as singing, dancing, and short skits. Directed by sophomores Sasha Lucchesi, Sarah Mavor, Shivangi Nadkar and Cat Torosyan, Froshcab will take place in the Lasker auditorium Dec. 13th-15th.

Froshcab stands out from other Theatre Ink productions because it spans from skits to musical numbers to intricate choreography. The show is no cut, meaning everyone who auditions gets in, resulting in a large group of freshmen who are able to demonstrate their skill sets in varied forms of art.

According to Lucchesi, one of the best things about Frosh Cab is it allows freshmen to meet new people who may have similar interests as them, which is why this year’s theme of “Be Me,” perfectly encapsulates what the show is all about. “It’s about being comfortable being yourself with those around you and embracing who you are,” she said.

Audiences have a lot to look forward to, according to Mavor because the “skits are really funny, the dances are high energy, and overall audiences can expect a really upbeat, high energy and lighthearted experience.”

The biggest goals for Froshcab this year are building a welcoming environment for the freshmen and “we are really trying to promote inclusivity and being yourself.” said Lucchesi.

To demonstrate the show’s theme, “Be Me”, the cast will perform the Katy Perry song, Daisies. The song is about following your dreams and being unashamedly yourself. The cast will sell merchandise decorated with bees and flowers to represent the song.
